PRP Platelet-Rich Plasma
Clinica Dual provides the latest advancements in facial rejuvenation treatments. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy stimulates facial skin regeneration by taking advantage of the tissue repair agents present in our bloodstream, achieving a better glow, colour and smoothness to the skin.
PRP, once injected into the skin, stimulates the metabolism of fibroblasts (cells that produce the connective fibres that support and shape the skin’s tissues) to increase the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, that is, the creation of new tissue to regenerate the skin.
PRP is extracted from the patient which guarantees biocompatibility. Starting with a small volume of blood (20 to 30 cc) PRP is isolated by centrifugation, containing 3 or 4 times more platelets than normal blood plasma. Once separated an agent is added to activate the platelets so that they liberate growth factors, and then the PRP is applied to the patient’s skin.
The treatment requires 2 or 3 sessions typically spaced a month apart. PRP therapy’s effects usually become visible one month after starting the treatment and are long-lasting. Once the desired results have been achieved to perform a maintenance session every 6-12 months is recommended.
