Facial Dark Spots
Spots or pigmented lesions can be successfully eliminated through laser removal or chemical peel treatments. The doctor will recommend the most appropriate type of treatment depending on the patient’s skin and spot types.
Q-SWITCHED AND ALEXANDRITE LASER
FACIAL SPOT REMOVAL
Today our clinic makes available to our patients both Alexandrite and Nd-YAG Q-switched laser systems. Those are the most reputable technological advancements in the field, for reasons of both effectiveness and safety. Both platforms cover the full spectrum of spot tonalities, and the doctor will choose the one most suitable to the lesion characteristics and the patient’s skin type.
These lasers belong to the ‘non ablative’ category: Their low level of aggressiveness to the skin allows the patient to return to her normal life without the need to convalesce. Session length is usually shorter than half an hour and tolerance to the treatment is high thanks to the use of an anesthetic gel prior to laser application, in order to reduce skin sensitivity.
FACIAL SPOT REMOVAL SKIN PEEL
The treatment consists of applying one or several chemical agents on the skin of the face. They produce an exfoliating, depigmenting and regenerative effect on the epidermis’ cells that eliminates the stained skin and replaces it with new skin.
Skin peel treatments can be classified as superficial, medium deep and deep depending on the potency of the preparation, the exposure time and the type of spots to be removed. That’s why each treatment must be tailored to suit the patient’s characteristics.
Skin preparation and care both before and after each session is crucial to achieve both the best tolerance to the treatment and the most satisfying results. The doctor will analyze the patient’s skin type to determine the cosmetic products to apply.
