CAVITATION

Cavitation therapy is indicated for those patients who have localized fatty deposits (thighs, abdomen, hips, etc.) but who wish to permanently remove them, without resorting to surgery.
This technique is applied in several sessions, usually 6 to 12, each spaced each about 3 to 4 days apart. Each session lasts about half an hour and addresses an specific body region. To facilitate fat expulsion manual lymphatic drainage techniques are usually applied at the end of each session.
LIPOSONIX

Liposonix is a high-intensity focused ultrasound, its effect is based on the emission of high-frequency sound that is not audible to the human ear.
Depending on the power and frequency, its action is anti-inflammatory, analgesic, draining, with the ability to regenerate deep tissues.
It is applied using a conductive gel to the affected area. Several sessions of duration and frequency can be carried out depending on the area and case to be treated.

Intralipotherapy is a novel technique for the removal of diet and exercise-resistant localized fat of moderate volume. It is an alternative to surgical procedures such as Liposuction with the advantage of allowing the patient to immediately return to his normal daily life after treatment.
It consists of the injection of a sodium deoxycholate solution in a gelatinous base, biocompatible and absorbable by the human body. This substance is able to liquify adipocytes (fat cells), whose fat is then eliminated through the lymphatic system’s natural processes.
Intralipotherapy is usually applied in areas such as the abdomen, flanks, hips, inner thighs, inner side of the knees and the jowl. It doesn’t require anaesthesia. It can be applied alone or combined with cavitation or ultrasound therapy, as the infiltration of the substance produces a tumescence that helps improve the results of those treatments.
Intralipotherapy is a technique meant to address localized fatty accumulations. It won’t solve obesity issues or get rid of cellulite.
Intralipotherapy application procedure
The product is injected inside the fatty tissues by means of a very thin needle. A small number of injections suffices to distribute the gel in a homogeneous manner. It is a virtually painless procedure, helped by the dilution of a local anaesthetic in the product.
If combined with cavitation or ultrasound treatments, they are applied 10-15 minutes after the injection.
A single vial of product is usually enough for treating a 10cm2 patch of skin. Between 4 to 6 sessions at 3 to 6 week intervals are recommended, using a maximum of 5 to 6 vials per session.
Fat cell removal is permanent, so this treatment does not require maintenance sessions.
After-Treatment care
Intralipotherapy sessions do not require rest after the treatment and the patient can resume her normal life immediately.
After a session the treated region can show some redness which will disappear within a few hours. Some slight fluids accumulation could remain for a few days, as well as a slightly painful inflammation that will go away within a week or two. This is normal and the sessions are spaced sufficiently to wait for those effects to disappear. To manage them, the use a compressive girdle or similar presotherapy garment is recommended.
It is better to wait at least 12 hours before applying cosmetic products on the treated area or subjecting it to intense heat (sunbathing, sauna, etc.). The patient shouldn’t do any exercise within a period of 24 hours after the treatment.
After finishing all the sessions of the treatment the patient must wait two months before subjecting herself to another aesthetic medicine treatment on the same area of the body.
Results
The effects of Intralipotherapy are progressive and begin to become visible two or three weeks after the first session. As patient response varies on an individual basis, the doctor will evaluate the results and guide the patient on matters such as the number of sessions and how many vials to apply.
Contraindications
Intralipotherapy is contraindicated for the following cases:
- Acute or chronic skin disease in the skin of the treatment or surrounding area.
- Infection.
- Allergy or anaphylaxis present in the patient’s medical record.
- Being pregnant or lactating
- Diabetes.
- Having serious heart, liver or kidney conditions.
- In case of bleeding or clotting disorders, or being subjected to anticoagulation therapy, intralipotherapy treatment must be performed with extra caution.
ULTRASOUND
